It is the longest and the most auspicious festival in the Nepalese annual calendar, celebrated by Nepalese people throughout the globe. It is not only the longest festival of the country but is also the one which is most anticipated. The festival falls around October-November, starting from the bright lunar fortnight and ending on the day of full moon. The festival is celebrated for 15 days; the most important days are the 1st, 7th, 8th, 9th and the 10th. The fifteen days of celebration occur during the bright lunar fortnight ending on the day of the full moon. Day 01: 12th October 2015: Arrival in Kathmandu, Nepal B
Arrival at Tribhuban International Airport in Kathmandu, meet welcome and transfer to hotel. Briefing program will be carried out along with welcome drink. Rest of the day is free for personal activities. Overnight at hotel in Kathmandu .
Day 02: 13th October 2015: Observe Ghatasthapana/ UNESCO Heritage site Tour B/L/D
After breakfast leave for UNESCO world Heritage sites of the valley covering Pashupatinath temple, Boudhanath stupa and Soyanbhunath stupa.. Early afternoon visit around Thamel tourist market. Evening witness the Ghatasthapana Program in local house. Overnight stay at hotel.
Day 03: 14th October 2015: UNESCO Heritage site Tour / Drive to Nagarkot B/L/D
After breakfast leave for UNESCO world Heritage sites of the valley covering Changunarayana temple and Bhaktapur Durbar Square. Lunch will be served at Bhaktapur, after lunch drive to Nagarkot ( 20 Kms, 1 hours drive ), evening enjoy the valleys, Himalayas and sunset. Overnight stay at hotel.
Day 04: 15th October 2015: Drive Nagarkot to Airport & Fly to Pokhara B/L/D
Wake up early in the morning to witness the sunrise view at eastern Himalayan ranges including Mt Everest ( 8,848 meter) .Breakfast and drive to airport for fly to Pokhara. Arrive Pokhara and check into hotel. Rest of the day free to walk around lake area. Overnight stay at hotel.
Day 05: 16th October 2015: Visit in and around Pokhara Valley B/L/D
Wake up early in the morning and drive to Sarangkot view tower to enjoy the view of Sunrise and Himalayas. Return to hotel , breakfast and proceed for local sightseeing tour to Bindubasisni temple, Seti George, International Mountain Museum , Devi’s Fall and Fewa lake. Rest of the day is free for personal activities as Ultra light flight, Paragliding , Zip flyer etc. Overnight stay at hotel.
Day 06: 17th October 2015: Visit Gorkha Historical Palace & Drive to Bandipur B/L/D
Breakfast and drive to Gorkha- the Historical palace of 1st Shah Dynasty. Visit Gorakhkali temple from where flowers and offering to Durga Bhagawati will be taken to Hanumandhoka( the main Dashain Ghar) . Visit Gorkha museum and other places. Return to Bandipur and overnight.
Day 07: 18th October 2015: Drive to Chitwan National Park B/L/D
Morning hour enjoy the view of Himalayas at sunrise and different range of mid- hills. After breakfast , drive to Chitwan National park.( 70 km, 2 /3 hours drive) . Finally arrive at National park. Lunch and briefing ,followed by jungle activities. Overnight at Jungle lodge /camp.
Day 08: 19th October 2015: Observe Pig sacrifice festival/ Jungle Activities B/L/D
Wake up early in the morning and proceed for Bird Watching tour, return to hotel , breakfast and proceed for jungle safari and canoe ride , elephant breeding center visit etc. Lunch and observe pig sacrifice as a part of Dashain festival/ Overnight stay at Jungle lodge /camp.
Day 09: 20th October 2015: Observe Buffalo Sacrifice/ Drive to Kathmandu B/L/D
Breakfast & drive to Kathmandu( 150 Km, 5 hours ) .En-route observe buffalo sacrifice/ Fulpati program as part of Dashain Festival. Finally arrive Kathmandu and check into hotel. Overnight stay at hotel.
Day 10: 21st October 2015: Maha Astami Festival/Dakshinkali & Hanumandhoka visit B/L/D
Breakfast & proceed to visit Dakshinkali temple- temple of Goddess Kali and Hanumandhoka, also known as Kumari temple and Kathmandu Durbar Square. Evening witness the Maha Astami program in local houses. Overnight stay at hotel.
Day 11: 22nd October 2015: UNESCO Heritage sites & Village Tour
Breakfast & leave for local old heritage sightseeing tour to Patan Durbar Square- also known as the city of art and architecture and Soyambhunath stupa- one of the oldest stupa , situated on a hillock overlooking Kathmandu valley and Himalayas. Lunch and proceed for village tour to Bugmati & Khokna. Enjoy the walking around the village and return to hotel & overnight.
Day 12: 23rd October 2015: Celebration of Dashain Festival
As per the hindu calendar, the day will be celebrated as Vijaya Dashami. Today we will enjoy the Dashain by getting the blessing from elder in the form of tika & jamara. During day time we will visit house hold and witness the celebration. Evening dinner will be served with Nepali cultural dance program. Overnight stay at hotel.
Day13: 24th October 2015: Final Departure
Day will be free till transferred to international airport flight for onward journey.
