Teej is most famous festival among Nepali women, fall during August or early September , is celebrated for the purpose of long life of her husband and long and firm relationship between and all their lives to come. The festival is observed for marital happiness, well-being of spouse and children and purification of own body and soul. The folk music and dances add more flavor to traditional values of Teej. It is fascinating to see women, in “Red” dancing and singing on the street, going to temple in holy and fasting mood. Teej is also called Hari Talika Teej. Teej is traditionally dedicated to the Goddess Parvati, remembering her union with Lord Shiva. It is a three-day-long celebration that combines splendid feasts as well as rigid fasting. Day 01: 14th September 2015: Arrival in Kathmandu, Nepal Breakfast only
Arrival at Tribhuwan International Airport in Kathmandu, meet welcome and transfer to hotel. Briefing program will be carried out along with welcome drink. Rest of the day is free for personal activities. Overnight at hotel in Kathmandu.
Day 02: 15th September 2015:: Drive to Pokhara/ Witness 1st Day of Teej Festival B/ L/D
Breakfast , and drive to Pokhara( 200 Km, 7 hours drive). On the way you can witness many beautiful sceneries – villages, rivers , mountains etc. Finally arrive Pokhara and Check into hotel. Evening enjoy the 1st Day of Teej ( Dar Khane din ie varieties of Nepali food) festival program in local Nepali house. Overnight stay at hotel.
Day 03: 16th September 2015:: Pokhara Sightseeing/ Witness Teej Festival B/ L/D
Wake up early morning and drive to Sarangkot view tower to enjoy the view of Sunrise and Himalayas. Return to hotel, breakfast and proceed for local sightseeing tour to Bindabashini temple, Seti George, International Mountain Museum, Devi’s fall and 1 hr boating in Fewa Lake. Rest of the day witness Teej festival/ participate in Teej festival program. Overnight stay at hotel.
Day 04: 17th September 2015:: Visit Gorkha & Bandipur / Witness Teej Festival B/ L/D
Breakfast and drive to Gorkha- the Historical city. Visit Gorkha historical sites-the ancient palace, Museum, temple etc. and drive to Bandipur – one of the most popular village , situated on the hill overlooking valleys , mountains ranges and Himalayas. Evening enjoy on Teej festival program. Overnight stay at hotel.
Day 05: 18th September 2015:: Drive to Kathmandu/ Witness Teej Festival B/ L/D
Wake up early in the morning and witness the view of sunrise and Himalayan view. Witness / participate on the Panchami ( Sapta Rishi Puja) . Breakfast and drive to Kathmandu. En-route witness Teej festival program – dancing and singing auspicious Teej song by women in different places. Finally arrive Kathmandu and check into hotel. Overnight stay at hotel.
Day 06: 19th September 2015:: UNESCO world heritage site Tour B/ L/D
Breakfast and proceed for UNESCO world heritage sightseeing tours program covering Pashupatinath temple- the holiest hindu temple situated at the edge of holy Bagmati River and Boudhanath Stupa- one of the biggest stupa of the world . Lunch and continue local UNESCO world heritage sightseeing tour to Kathmandu Durbar Square(Kumari House) and Soyambhunath stupa. Return to hotel dinnerf and overnight.
Day 07: 20th September 2015:: UNESCO Heritage site Tour/ Drive to Nagarkot B/ L/D
Breakfast and proceed for UNESCO World Heritage sightseeing tour to Patan Durbar Square and Changu Narayana Temple and Bhaktapur Durbar Square. After lunch drive to Nagarkot ( 20 km – 1 hour drive) . Arrive Nagarkot and enjoy the view of Himalayas with sunset view. Overnight stay at hotel.
Day 08: 21st September 2015: Final Departure Transfer Breakfast only
Wake up early in the morning to witness the view of eastern Himalayan ranges including Mt Everest ( 8,848 m) at sunrise. Return to hotel , breakfast and proceed to International airport for onward flight.
